1058F..1969 Corvette Convertible Triple Black L88 aluminum head 427 with M-22 heavy duty close-ratio transmission. Tuxedo Black paint with Black interior and Black soft top. One of two known to exist! This is the last Triple Black L88 Convertible that was ordered new by Tony DeLorenzo as a personal driver. Tony DeLorenzo also bought and raced the first Triple Black L88 Convertible, a 1967, whose history is well-known. Tony's friend from Germany, Curt Wetzel, convinced Tony to race prepare this car and sell it to him. In late 1969 the car was loaded in the belly of a Pan Am jet and was flown to Germany where Wetzel successfully raced the car until purchased by the Porsche team to get it off the track. Nabers Brothers body-off restoration back to "as new" when purchased by DeLorenzo (pre-race configuration) in absolute show condition. These type restorations normally cost between $100,000.00 to $150,000.00. Bloomington Gold certified, NCRS Top Flight award, and Triple Crown award in 2005 and 2006. 1007F.. 1971 Corvette ZR2 T-Top, one of 12 ZR2's ever built, 454-425 hp high performance V8 with solid lifters, M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed transmission, F41 special heavy duty suspension, 4.11 posi-traction, J56 power dual pin disc brakes. Brandshatch Green paint with Dark Green vinyl interior. Recipient of Bloomington Gold certification. Delivered to Canada with the GM of Canada documents and NCRS/GM Shipping Data Report validating the rarity and uniqueness of this vehicle. Corvette Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov factory-built extra-high-performance specials, which includes the original 1963 Z06, the 1969 ZL1 aluminum block L88, the 1970-72 ZR1 Special purpose LT1, and the 12 ZR2 special purpose Corvettes. Rarer than even the vaunted L88, the ZR2 was a one-year only production package of only 12 units. At the heart of the ZR2 concept was the outstanding LS6 engine whose understated factory rating of 425 hp, the result of a heavy duty 4-bolt bottom end, forged crank, rods and pistons. The aluminum head LS6 was joined on the ZR2 roster by transistorized ignition, a high-capacity aluminum radiator, a Muncie M22 rock crusher close ratio 4-speed, heavy-duty power brakes, and special springs, shock absorbers, radio delete, 4.11 posi rear end, and heavy duty front and rear sway bars. It is equipped today as it was when delivered to Golden Mile Chev Olds, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They sold it to the original owner Barry Needler as documented by the original warranty book, and GM of Canada build sheet. This ZR2 was the recipient of a work of art body-off nut and bolt restoration by one of the most respected restoration shops in the collector car hobby, Kevin Mackay's Corvette Repair of Valley Stream, NY, who displayed this car at the NCRS National Convention and Carlisle's Chip's Choice as the famous sideways Corvette. 1050K..1971 Corvette Convertible with two tops, LS6, aluminum head, 425 hp, M-22, 4 speed, numbers matching original motor, also has factory original body/trim tag, 33,133 actual miles. Sunfire Yellow paint with Saddle Tan interior and White soft top. Extremely rare LS6 convertible that is original, unrestored, and unmolested in excellent condition... a true survivor!!! These original unmolested cars are among the rarest of rare and are rising to the top of the Corvette food chain as unrestored cars are used as guideposts for restorers, shining a light on the way vehicles were originally built.
